PRESS RELEASE: PointRoll Names Mario Diez Chief Executive Officer
New York, NY, March 26, 2013 – PointRoll, a Gannett company and a leading provider of digital advertising technology and services, today announced the appointment of Mario Diez as Chief Executive Officer. Diez will be based at the company’s headquarters in King of Prussia, PA, outside Philadelphia.
This is a homecoming of sorts, as Diez opened the New York market for PointRoll in 2003, when the company was a two-year-old startup. In the years since, he has become one of the industry’s leaders at the vanguard of the display advertising ecosystem’s evolution.
“Combining PointRoll’s creative and delivery legacy with the back-end analytics and scale that marketers want makes PointRoll a very exciting place to work in the years to come,” said Diez. “I joined PointRoll as its 13th employee more than a decade ago, and today, I am returning as its 266th. We intend to drive innovation and value just as we did as a startup, all while providing the same quality service that has been our hallmark throughout.”
Diez takes the helm at a pivotal time for PointRoll as it further expands beyond offering rich media, video and mobile display advertising to being a multi-screen digital advertising creation, delivery and measurement provider. Recognizing the proliferation of multi-screen media engagement and the difficulty marketers have with existing technologies and disparate, multi-vendor solutions, PointRoll delivers both the technology and support services to enable buyers and sellers to bridge this gap.

PointRoll Cut&Paste Threw Down at SXSWi
This past Sunday, we proudly hosted the first ever Cut&Paste Design Throwdown at SXSWi. Knowing the plethora of events and parties at SXSW, we wanted to make sure we stood out and stand out we did. From the line that started forming almost an hour before we opened the doors to the moment our designers and world renown DJ, RAC, took stage to the final design battle results, the entire event was filled with an insane overflow of energy and excitement. We had two teams of two graphic artists (Sara Blake & Justin Maller VS. Superdeux & DEMO) and they were given the task of “re-imagining Pluto.” In two fast rounds, the two teams squared off while RAC performed on stage. There was free admission, open bar, fresh live digital design and killer beats. The designers killed it and the enthusiasm from the crowd was contagious. Thanks for keeping us on our feet with all the tweets! All around excellent SX experience for us! Be sure to check out all the photos and the artwork created during the event.
